XX 97 17 (or otherwise "20") as a Box album collects a number of A23P tunes both previously, and unpreviously, released from between the years 1997 through 2017, into a single compendium and review of not only the A23P acid techno and house sound, but also other areas including but not limited to breaks, ambient, idm, and experimental electronica.

The album is primarily structured by year, opening with "End Transmission", the opening track of the first A23P (then called simply "23") album Thee 23rd Sigil Ov Reason, released back in 1997.
The album then moves in primarily chronogical order through a number of selections on up to a new 2017 piece, "SarDust Babylon", an intelligent chilled funk Acid number for a NewAeon.
